Removal
1.Disconnect the battery cable negative terminal.
2.Drain the engine coolant.
3.Open the engine cover.(Non-tilt cab model only)
4.Disconnedt the engne coolant temperature sensor
connector.
5.Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.
Inspection
This engine coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor
type whose characteristics are that the electrical
resistance decreases as the temperature rises.
1.Place the temperature sensor section of the
sensor into water.Inspect whether the changes in
resistance value correspond to the values in the
thermistor characteristics graph while changing the
water temperature.
NOTE:
·Be careful not to allow water to get into the terminal
section.
Wipe off the waterdroplets on thesensor after the
inspection.

·Replace it if any abnormality is found during the
inspection.
