Tools 9996441 Cover with Connector 9996662 Pressure Test Kit Before use, inspect the pressure test kit 9996662. See Cylinder Head, Pressure Test, page 90.
1. Inspect and ensure all hoses are free of defects.
2. Inspect and ensure the stopcock on the pressure relief valve is fully open.
3. Replace the coolant filler cap on the expansion tank with the cover 9996441 with the connector. Connect the pressure test kit to the connector on the cover.
4. Connect the pressure test kit to the compressed air system and open stopcock (B). Adjust the pressure relief valve (A) until the pressure gauge shows 70 kPa (10.2 PSI). Close stopcock (B).
5. If there are no leaks in the cooling system, the pressure should not drop within two minutes. Note! If you are unsure whether there is a leak in the cooling system, repeat this pressure test.
6. After performing the pressure test, shut off the compressed air. Loosen the pressure reducing valve and open the stopcock (B) to release any remaining pressure in the cooling system.
7. Remove the test apparatus.
8. Check the coolant level in the expansion tank. Install the standard coolant filler cap.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
