① Loosen the coolant hose clamps, remove the four bolts, thermostat housing, and thermostat (see Figure 2-28).
② The torque converter cooling plate restricts coolant flow through the thermostat housing to the water pump bypass hose. This allows coolant to circulate through the remotely installed torque converter oil cooler. Remove the torque converter cooling plate between the thermostat housing and the water pump bypass hose connector (see Figure 2-29).
③ Remove the four bolts between the oil cooler and the thermostat housing bracket flange, and the four bolts between the oil cooler and the oil filter housing, as well as the oil cooler and gasket (see Figure 2-30). Also remove the oil cooler inlet and outlet pipes and the mounting flange.

④ Remove the Jacobs engine brake oil supply line and remove the turbocharger.(Figure 2-31).

5. Remove the 9 bolts, oil filter seat, and gasket (see Figure 2-32). Remove the turbocharger oil return line from the cylinder block.
